Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply to our consultations, treatments and services.

These terms and conditions apply to all agreements between Holistische Arts (trading as HPV Health) and its clients. We believe it is important that you know in advance what you can expect from us and what we ask of you. By making an appointment, you agree to these terms.

Last updated: 11 April 2026

1. Definitions

  • Practice: Holistische Arts, trading as HPV Health, located in Gieterveen and Huizen
  • Client: the natural person who receives a consultation or treatment from the practice
  • Agreement: any agreement between the practice and a client, including the treatment agreement as defined in the Dutch Medical Treatment Agreement Act (WGBO)
  • Consultation: a (telephone, digital or in-person) conversation with a healthcare provider of the practice

2. Formation of the agreement

An agreement is formed at the moment the client registers — in writing, by email or by phone — and the practice confirms the registration. The client is then responsible for promptly communicating any changes in personal circumstances or health data that may be relevant to the treatment.

3. Appointments, rescheduling and cancellation

We work by appointment only. If you are unexpectedly unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible — this allows us to offer your time slot to someone else.

  • Appointments cancelled or rescheduled at least 24 hours in advance are free of charge.
  • Cancelling or rescheduling an appointment within 24 hours of the scheduled time incurs a €40 charge. You will receive an invoice which must be paid within 7 days.
  • Not showing up without notice will result in the full consultation fee being charged.

This policy helps keep our practice workable and gives other clients fair access to released slots.

4. Fees and payment

Current fees are listed on our costs page and explained during initial contact. Fees include VAT where applicable.

For consultations and treatments on location, payment is made immediately after the consultation, by cash or debit card. You will always receive an invoice which — if you are supplementally insured — you can submit to your health insurer.

For a telephone consultation we ask you to pay in advance. As soon as the payment has been received, we finalize the appointment.

For any invoice for a cancellation fee (see article 3), a payment term of 7 days applies.

Treatments at Holistische Arts are generally not covered by basic health insurance. Depending on your supplementary insurance, partial reimbursement may be possible — Jose van Ditmarsch is a BIG-registered general practitioner and a member of the AVIG, which increases the chance of (partial) reimbursement with many insurers. Please check with your insurer in advance.

5. Treatment execution

The practice commits to approaching your health question with care and in a tailored way. We work on the basis of a best-efforts obligation, not a result-obligation. This means we do our utmost, but cannot guarantee a specific outcome — every body and every situation is different.

Our approach is complementary to conventional care and does not replace the advice of your GP, gynaecologist or specialist. We strongly recommend that you continue to attend regular check-ups.

6. Client's duty to inform

In order to prepare a careful treatment plan, we ask you to:

  • provide complete and accurate information about your medical history, complaints and previously performed examinations
  • share smear test or specialist examination results on request
  • communicate any relevant changes in health, medication or lifestyle during the treatment process

Withholding or incorrectly providing information may affect the quality and safety of the treatment.

7. Liability

The liability of the practice is limited to the amount paid out in the relevant case by our professional liability insurance, plus any applicable excess. The practice is not liable for indirect damage, consequential damage or immaterial damage, unless there is intent or deliberate recklessness.

The practice is not liable for damage resulting from incorrect or incomplete information provided by the client.

8. Complaints

Do you have a complaint about your treatment or our services? Please discuss it with us first — we are happy to look for a suitable solution together. You can submit your complaint in writing to info@hpvhealth.nl.

Jose van Ditmarsch is a BIG-registered general practitioner and is subject to Dutch medical disciplinary law. If we cannot resolve the issue together, you have the right to submit your complaint to the Regional Disciplinary Tribunal for Healthcare (Regionaal Tuchtcollege voor de Gezondheidszorg). More information is available at tuchtcollege-gezondheidszorg.nl.

9. Processing of personal data

We handle your personal data and medical information with care. How we do this is described in detail in our privacy policy.

10. Applicable law

All agreements between the practice and the client are governed exclusively by Dutch law. Disputes that cannot be resolved by mutual agreement will be submitted to the competent Dutch court.
